The Creation

Genesis 1

The story starts with the book of Genesis. It states “In the beginning, God created heaven and earth.” This opening line is our Once upon a time of the Bible. It set the tone for the miraculous things that was about to happen. God took an empty world and in seven days created our world. On Day 1 God created light, and He separated the light and darkness; night and day. On Day 2 God created the expanse separating the water and named it sky. Then on Day 3 He created the dry land and seas, and he also created vegetation. He continues his creation and on Day 4 He created the sun, moon and stars. On Day 5 God created all living creatures of the sea and air. Finally on Day 6 God created the animals on earth. He also created Man and Woman (Adam and Eve). He created them in His own image and blessed them by giving them the earth to rule over. On Day 7 God saw what he made was Good and he rested. Wow, now that’s how you begin a story! We read in Genesis 1:31 it states that “God looked over all that he had made, and he saw that it was very good”. The world was Good! Can you imagine living in a world that perfect?
